Rising Pros Program
For
Juniors, Ages 10 to 17
Clubgolf has created a unique and different Junior
Golf Program to get your junior ready not just for golf
but for athletics in general. It is a broad-based
program that focuses on rotational speed development which
is great for any sport.
The Rising Pros Program focuses on the middle stages
of Long Term Athletic Development (LTAD). Junior golfers
are engaged in a system for improvement, not just a
series of tips and hints about the game of golf. The
Risings Pros will feature the Smash Zone Training
Circuit to turn your kids into rotary ballistic missiles
with unlimited potential. The Smash Zone Training
Circuit was developed based upon the most current junior
development protocols developed by the Titleist
Performance Institute (we will teach your kids what
today's best players did when they were teens). They
also will learn proper alignment, course management and
how to read greens.
The program will be a lot of fun, and one in which they
can participate with their friends. Our approach
focuses on having kids perform age appropriate skill
acquisition drills to maximize their athletic potential.
It gets more complicated and specialized as the junior
develops and reaches the next level. There are several
stages a junior goes through in their athletic
development, and we will make sure they follow the correct
development with the parents' help.
BACKGROUND
The reason for this program is that many of the
world's leading authorities on athletic development say
a Sport Specific Skill (golf in our case) should be
built upon a well-developed base of Fundamental
Movement Skill and Fundamental Sport Skill.
Those will be broken down into sub-categories.
In the Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS), we will
break it down to:
Locomotive Skills
• Running, Jumping, Dodging, Skipping, Hopping, Bounding and Sprinting
Stability Skills (ABC’s of Athleticism)
• Agility, Balance, Coordination, Speed, Change of Direction,
Disassociation
Manipulative / Object Control Skills (ABC’s of
Athletics)
• Throw, Kick, Strike, Catch, Dribble, Dodge
Awareness
• Space Awareness, Kinesthetic Awareness, Body
Awareness, Rules
Most experts will say that a child who develops a
better base of Fundamental Movement Skills will develop
golf-skills at a faster rate and will peak at a higher
level of expertise.
In the Fundamental Sport Skill (FSS), the
sub-categories are the major skill areas of the golf
game:
Full Swing
• Grip, Posture, Alignment
• Ball Position, Stance, Balance
Chipping
• Distance Control, Force Control
Putting
• Green Reading, Speed Control, Alignment
Course Management
• Tactics, Club Selection, Risk Reward
Rising Pro participants will receive skill-specific testing and
instruction in each of these areas.
Parents will be amazed at how much fun their children
will have in this program and how advanced their
athletics will be.
